Music producer and dj Dirk Erasmus, aka dIRCASTRO offers some electrifying sounds on the streetlamp website.

The All Music Guide categorises Electronica as a top-level genre including "dozens of stylistic fusions" ranging from danceable grooves, to music for headphones and chill-out areas.

A lot has changed since the early days when electronic music required large amounts of complex equipment, multiple operators for live performances, and several engineers to record the music.  Technological advancement led to an era of creative experimentation and the development of fresh forms of electronic music, some of which became known as Electronica.
I had a listen to his songs in the last week, and it seems to me that Dirk covers all sounds of Electronica, from up-tempo and danceable tracks to a laid back and mellow blend of electronic textures.  Dirk obviously has a passion for what he does, and his music displays his wide variety of influences.

Even though Dirk is still new on the scene, I’m sure that he will develop to become a mainstay.  Dirk will definitely find his niche and build a following.  All the music was thoroughly enjoyable, even from a rocker’s point of view.
