Weez joins Streetlamp.co.za

Latest hip-hop edition to the Streetlamp.co.za website, Weez, made his first professional recording in August 2006 with Nigerian producer “Maye”.  His song called “Verbal Massacre” was play listed on 5FM.  The tune topped 5FM's Hi5@5 Top 20 hit parade for two weeks running.

Recently, Weez’s music has been catching the attention of the international music scene.  R&B diva, Beyoncé, wrote to Weez that she was "very impressed" with his lyrics.  After hearing his music on MySpace, the people from the Senegalese-American hip-hop sensation, Akon, also approached Weez to do Verbal massacre on the compilation CD Coast2Coast.  Weez has been invited to appear at various clubs in Los Angeles and Miami during March 2008. 

His self-produced debut CD, Get Ready, was released at the Aardklop Festival this year.  Weez says the idea behind “Get Ready” is to wake the music industry up and let them know that Hip-Hop aint dead! The message in most of the songs is:  Never give up, never stop, never hold back, follow your dreams and remember to live your life to the fullest!  This is exactly what this talented artist is doing, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him!
