Weez

Bio

Weez is an Afrikaans guy from Pretoria, grew up on a farm in Mpumalanga, but raps in English like 50cent and Biggie Smalls.

He has been doing some interesting stuff in the S-A music industry since he started in 2007.....

He is finished with his debut album called "Get Ready", an uplifting commercial Hip-Hop vibe for the masses, and is already making waves around the country and in the U.S. with his unique style and energy at his gigs, although he's still unsigned.

His hit track "Verbal massacre" was released in America on a compilation cd by "DJ Khaled, from The Terror Squad" in 2007 featuring artists like Akon, T.I. and Fat Joe. The track was on 5fm's charts for 11 weeks, was on number 1 for 2 weeks, and was the 11th most requested song of 2007 on 5fm. Weez was also asked to perform at some major clubs in Miami and L.A. later in 2008.

He has been working with well known producers in the Hip-Hop industry from New York, California and Nigeria.

He recently worked with Lady Lea on her newest album "Catch me if you can-3rd time lucky". Lady Lea did a house remix of Weez's track "Permanent Damage" and this track makes the party people go crazy at the gigs. Weez toured with Lady Lea with her album launch in December and January and was Lea's MC. At the shows he performs his original Hip-Hop track "Permanent Damage" during Lady Lea's set and then straight after she does her House remix of the track. The crowd goes absolutely ballistic when a live act comes on during a pumping house set and this is a new thing in S-A, mixing house and hip-hop at clubs.

Weez is also collaborating with the Afrikaans rock band "Dertig Nul Ses" for the MK89 Matrix show. The producer requested that they do a collaboration to be used as a theme track for the show. This will also be the first Afrikaans Rock, Hip-Hop collaboration ever in S-A.

His music is exciting new and fresh in his specific genre and his mission is to create ‘n product that every culture can relate to, both locally and in the international market.
"It's about time that somebody step up and do Hip-Hop the way it's suppose to be! South African needs a power injection for the Hip-Hop section.."

His track Verbal Massacre was the 11th most requested song of 2007 on 5FM.

Weez is a definite icon that will soon place the South-African Music market in a different perspective.
