Step back was recorded in Chatsworth, Los Angeles, California at "The Temple of Boom" - Cypress Hill's studios.

Step back has a summer feel to it, "you can feel the breeze". The song is about my journey to LA and making a name for myself in the rapgame and not looking back or stopping for anything! The song is produced by B-Real himself, and we got Dr. Dre's bass player "Baby Jesus" on it ass well.

The recording of the vocals took 4 hours and the production of the song was done over 4 days. I arrived at the studio and listened to the instrumental, then I took the instrumental back to my hotel and was working on my vocals for 2 days. Got back in the studio and did my thing. After the recording we went out for a party in Hollywood, at The Rainbow on Sunset boulevard, where I was accompanied by the whole Cypress Hill crew and a bunch of LA gang bangers! All I can say is: What a night!
